Bada Bagh 


Bada Bagh or Big Garden is a desert garden which is located at 6 Km away on the way to Jaisalmer city to Ramgarh. The construction of this garden had started in early 16th century by Maharawal Jait Singh and completed by his son Lunakaran after his death. The site has three different things to watch a garden, a dam and a tank, the dam is known as Jait Bandh and the tank is known as Jait Sar. This is one of the beautiful architectural royal sites of Jaisalmer and still being maintaining by the royal family of Jaisalmer.

Gadisar Lake


Gadisar Lake is one of the renowned places in Jaisalmer City. Actually, it is a water tank which is made by Maharaval Gadsi Singh in 1400 AD to full fill the basic water needs of Jaisalmer citizens. The attraction of this lake is beautiful shrines and temple surrounded the lake which is made of yellow stones and have old Indian religious affiliation.

Patwon Ki Haveliyan


Patwao ki haveliyan or Patwah Mansions is the top of the list of an artistic attraction of jaisalmer city because of its gorgeous architecture, miniatures and balconies. It is a cluster of 5 small beautiful havelis (Mansions) which is constructed in the year of 1805 by Merchant Guman chand patwa for his five sons. It took 60 years of construction time and during these years all the food and basic needs of constructors family had been paid by Guman Chand Patwa. It is also well known as Mansion of Brocade Merchants and this is the largest haveli of jaisalmer which is stands in a narrow lane.



Kuldhara is famous as a haunted village which is located 20 km away from Jaisalmer city. This village was omitted by its people in the early 19th century with a curse. That is why Kuldhara is known as a cursed town where no one would ever be able to settle down again. According to Jaisalmer’s local inhabitants, this place turns into a  dangerous haunted place after sunset because of the dead girl sprite and curse so the best time to visit this place is after sunrise to before sunset.  The attraction of this village to watch is the old village lifestyle buildings and roads.

Jaisalmer Fort 


Jaisalmer fort also known as Golden Fort and Sonar Kila in local language is a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO. This is one of the largest desert forts of the world and the second oldest fort in Rajasthan India which is proudly standing at middle of Jaisalmer city. It was built in 1156 AD by the rajput ruler Maharawal Jaisal. This fort is two hundred and fifty feet tall and reinforced by grand sandstone wall 30 feet high and it has 99 turret using Vaastu Shaastra. This is a unique living fort where still people are living and markets are running, It just like a small town covered by a huge wall. The main attraction of this fort is Jaisalmer Fort Museum , Jain Temples , Laxminath Temple and The Cannon Point.

Jain Temples


The Jain temples are most religious and architectural attractions in jaisalmer for tourists or we can say it is one of the must visiting places in Jaisalmer. These temples are renowned for their intricate carvings and architecture and were constructed between 15th and 16th centuries. These are situated under the boundary of Jaisalmer Fort and the visiting hours of these temples is early morning to till 12 PM.

Jaisalmer War Museum


The Jaisalmer War Museum is a unique museum set up by Indian Army which is located approx 10 km far from Jaisalmer on the Jaisalmer to Jodhpur Highway.This museum is designed for giving honor to war heroes for their contributions and sacrifices in different wars and highlighting Indian army’s bravery.  This museum has no entry fees set for visitors, but they charge 25 Rs./ person for watching a short video film on Indian army survival and victory journey.This museum also displays a showcase of different kind of battle weapon and other important things that were used by Indian army in different battles. If you want to keep a memory from this place so you can buy it from  souvenir shop which is located inside the Jaisalmer War Museum.

Sunrise Point at Sam Sand Dunes


Sam is located at 42 Km far from the Jaisalmer city. It is one of the most scenic and peaceful destinations near a Jaisalmer. It is famous for beautiful sunrise and sunset view and equally top liked destination for camel ride and desert Jeep safari fun. Tourist likes to visit at Sam sand dunes from morning to till night or over night but the best time to visit this place is early morning and the evening time.
